Tactics: Clear directions, communication      Equipment: 1 big parachute or 2 small ones, 20                                                                                tennis balls, 1 volleyball


QEP:
COMPETENCY II, communication with teammates, synchronization of actions.

 

Description:

Layer 1: The students make a circle around the parachute, all standing in front of a color.  Perform certain actions.

 

MODIFICATIONS:

· Carousel: hold the side of the parachute with right hand, facing the left. Turn clockwise. Inverse.

· Big & small waves: shaking the parachute

· Umbrella: hold the parachute up & let it fall down (let go of it)

· Colors: hold the parachute up and designate a color. The students that are holding that color can   go under it, and get out on another side, on the same color

· Mushroom: hold the parachute up and walk four steps in

· Mountain:

o   hold the parachute up and seal the air inside (the students are sitting on the outside)

o   hold the parachute up and seal the air inside (the students are sitting inside)

o   hold the parachute up and seal the air inside (the students only have their head inside)

· Mountain Climb: hold the parachute up and start climbing it until you are laying down, in the center of it

· Popcorn (cycle II and III): put objects such as bean bags or tennis balls on the parachute. Swing it such that the objects fly.

· Fly to the moon (cycle III): if you have two small parachutes, you can pass a ball or an object from one parachute to the other, using a technique similar to popcorn

 

SAFETY:

Remind the students about handling the parachute properly. Watch out for space limitation when doing popcorn or fly to the moon. In popcorn, the objects could fly towards a student.
