QEP: COMPETENCY II, opposition, using space available, encircling opponent    



DESCRIPTION:

Layer 1:The students start in scatter formation in the defined playing space.

            On “GO” the students move around in the playing space avoiding other players:

Question: What tactics are you using to solve the problem of moving without touching other players?


Layer 2:

-Everyone is it, anyone may touch anyone else

-If I touch you first your are frozen

-If you touch me first I am frozen

-When you are frozen you place your hands in front of you, palms up

-Anyone can free you by touching your hands three times, saying, ‘you’re free

-While freeing someone you are on base”


MODIFICATIONS:

-Auto defrost by doing 10 jumping jacks, etc…

-Nose and toes, moveable bases

-Static bases, one person at a time.




SAFETY

Start by having the class move around the gymnasium using space carefully, keeping head up, scanning.

Remind the students about appropriate tagging.
