QEP: 
COMPETENCY II, recovering the object, counterattacking.

 

Description:

Layer 1: The students start in scatter formation, spread in the playing area.Practice the movement with tennis balls. Throw it up in the defined space and catch it.

Layer 2: Throw the ball up in the air and hit it back up.

Layer 3: Throw the ball, hit it, and move with it in the defined space.

Layer 4: Play 1 vs. 1.The game is played in a half badminton court. Lob the ball to the other player, trying to maintain a rally. Try to stay static. The ball must do one bounce before catch.

Layer 5: Play 1 vs. 1, like a mini-game. Make the other person move side to side, and near and far.

 


MODIFICATIONS:

For students that are more physically able, instead of catching and throwing the ball, try to hit it off the bounce.

In order to increase maximum individual participation, do quick changes:  play 2 vs. 2. Hit or throw the ball and go out, so the other player comes in and lobs it.

 

SAFETY:

For the first part of the game, remind students to keep their head up, scanning, avoiding other players.

When playing 1 vs. 1, if the ball leaves their playing area, it is important that the students don’t cross another team’s field while they are playing. Go around it, wait till they pause, or politely ask for your fall.
