Rationale & Topic

Welcome to my website! I am currently studying Physical & Health Education in Quebec. I was required to develop an online unit plan for my Media, Technology & Education course.

I have chosen to create an online resource of games for Physical Education Teachers in Elementary schools (grade K to six) in Quebec. My games follow the Quebec Education Program (QEP), and all respect the Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU) concept.

My games are separated by category:

·Fundamental Movements
·Cooperation and Team Building
·Pursuit and Evade Games
·Territorial Games
·Net and Wall Games

and by cycle:

·Cycle I - Grades 1 & 2
·Cycle II - Grades 3 & 4
·Cycle III - Grades 5 & 6

Assessment

The evaluation of the students will be based on the three competencies of the QEP:

·Competency 1: To perform movement skills in different physical activity settings
·Competency 2: To interact with others in different physical activity settings
·Competency 3: To adopt a healthy, active lifestyle

Students will need to demonstrate:

·Coherent planning of a skill that they will like to improve or a strategy that they will like to use (create a plan of action)
·Effective implementation of the plan of action
·Relevent reflection on what went well, and what needs to be improved on their plan of action

Reflections

Making this website was a fun experience for me. Dealing with the time pressure of the end of the semester, I wan't able to put as much games and categories as I would have liked, so I hope to continue developing this online resource throughout my four years at McGill, and even into my career afterwards. This website is a great resource because if one day I do not have my Games Ressource Binder with me, I will be able to access it off the internet.

Overall I am satisfied with my website. It is a tool good tool I can use, and share with my friends and colleagues in the years to come. Even if I have more games and categories to add, I am proud of my work, and when it will be completed, it will be a tool that I won't be able to stay away from.

I have included a "Links" section to the websites of my peers' online game resource websites. Through the websites, we will be able to share our ideas and our new games, since we are always looking for new material and fun games to teach.
